About Chambers

We are the longest established circuit set in the country and occupy an imposing Grade II listed building in the heart of Sheffield city centre and close to the courts. 

We are the only independent set in Sheffield, comprising 44 barristers, including 4 Queen's Counsel.

Areas of Expertise

Members of Chambers specialise in a number of key practice areas, with our roots firmly in the areas of criminal and family law. Over recent years, Chambers has evolved in response to client demands and a changing market. Through a programme of strategic recruitment and retention of quality specialist pupils, Chambers has expanded across all practice areas, particularly in the development of our employment, housing and prison law expertise.

Strong links with the local courts and solicitors ensures that our clerking team is able to secure the best listing arrangements and deliver an efficient and effective service.

Strength of Barristers

The quality and experience of our barristers is formally recognised with a number of them holding judicial appointments. The expertise of several members is independently acknowledged by recommendations in the Legal500 and Chambers & Partners Guide to the Legal Profession. Members undertake work funded in a variety of ways; privately (at a competitive rate), by legal aid or under a CFA. Additionally, we also have barristers who are authorised to accept work under the Public Access Scheme.

CPD Training

We are authorised by the Bar Standards Board and the Solicitors Regulation Authority to give accredited CPD seminars. We actively seek to provide legal updates and training for solicitors across all our practice areas and we will work with you to devise and deliver training sessions which meet your specific requirements.
